DISASSEMBLY

CAUTION:

Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for the LH side and RH side.
  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (for Front Passenger Side) SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

2. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR (for Driver Side) SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SEAT POSITION SENSOR: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

3. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB



(a) Apply protective tape around the cushion shield.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB



(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

(a) Remove the hog rings and rubber bands of the seatback cover from the seat frame.

(b) Remove the 2 screws.

(c) Remove the 3 screws.

(d) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cushion shield.

(e) Disconnect the connectors.

6. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT LUMBAR SWITCH SEAT: POWER SEAT SWITCH (for Front Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

7. REMOVE LEG SUPPORT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH (w/ Leg Support Adjustment Switch) SEAT: POWER SEAT SWITCH (for Front Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD INNER LH



(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and clip, and then remove the cushion shield.

10. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH



(a) Disconnect the connectors.

(b) Remove the 3 screws and switch.

11. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/ Leg Support Adjustment Switch)

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

(b) Disconnect the connector and disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

(c) Disconnect the connector and disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

(d) Remove the 4 hog rings and disengage the hooks.

(e) Remove the seat cushion cover wire.

(f) Remove the seat cushion cover with pad from the seat frame.

12. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD (w/o Leg Support Adjustment Switch)

(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

(b) Disconnect the connector and disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

(c) Disconnect the connector and disengage the 2 wire harness clamps.

(d) Remove the 2 hog rings.

(e) Bend the 2 seat frame claws upward.

(f) Disengage the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover with pad.

13. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (w/ Leg Support Adjustment Switch)

(a) Remove the 15 hog rings and front seat cushion cover.

14. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER (w/o Leg Support Adjustment Switch)

(a) Remove the 10 hog rings and front seat cushion cover.

15. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seat Heater System)



(a) Cut off the 30 tack pins which fasten the seat heater to the seat cushion cover, and then remove the seat cushion heater from the seat cushion cover.

16. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT

(a) Remove the 3 hog rings.

(b) Disengage the hook.

(c) Remove the 2 hog rings and seatback cover wires.

(d) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

17. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD



(a) Remove the nut and seatback cover bracket from the seat frame.

(b) Remove the 4 hog rings and seatback cover with pad.

18. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

(a) Remove the 2 hog rings and seatback cover wires.

(b) Disconnect the seatback cover bracket from the seatback pad.

(c) Remove the 2 hog rings and seatback cover from the seatback pad.

19. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seat Heater System)



(a) Cut off the 9 tack pins which fasten the seatback heater to the seatback cover, and then remove the seatback heater from the seatback cover.

20. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH



(a) Remove the screw and disengage the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.

21. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

(a) Remove the screw and disengage the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster inside cover.

22. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SHIELD LH



(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the claw and remove the front seatback shield.

23. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK SHIELD RH



(a) Disengage the wire harness clamp.

(b) Remove the 2 screws.

(c) Disengage the claw and remove the front seatback shield.

24. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH NO. 2



(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the hook and remove the cushion shield.

25. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH NO. 1

(a) Remove the screw.

(b) Disengage the hook and remove the cushion shield.

26. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System) SEAT: LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

27. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (w/o Climate Control Seat System) SEAT: LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

28. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL COVER LH NO. 1 (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 4 screws and then remove the seatback climate control cover LH No. 1.

29. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, remove the 2 screws and then remove the seatback climate control blower LH and seatback climate control cover LH No. 3.

30. REMOVE SEATBACK CLIMATE CONTROL COVER LH NO. 2 (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Disengage the 6 claws and remove the seatback climate control cover LH No. 2.

31. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL DUCT LH (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Separate the 2 clamps (A) in the direction indicated by the arrow (1).

(b) Separate the 2 clamps (B) in the direction indicated by the arrow (2).

(c) Disengage the 2 claws, and remove the seat cushion climate control duct LH.

32. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWER (w/ Climate Control Seat System)

(a) Disconnect the connector.

(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket, disengage the 2 claws and remove the seat cushion climate control blower.

(c) Remove the screw,

33. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Seat Heater System)



(a) Disconnect the seat heater control connector and disengage the clamp.

(b) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the seat heater control.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

34. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH (for Driver Side)

(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors.

(b) Disengage the 6 wire harness clamps.

35. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH (for Front Passenger Side)

(a) Disconnect the 5 connectors.

(b) Disengage the 7 wire harness clamps.
